Santuary

The drawing incorporates the theme, “Space, Place, and Time,” and is inspired by my Hmong-American life. The left indicates my past, or more so, the past of my parents and the Hmong people. My parents saw America as a land of opportunities and refuge, thus the bridge represents the connection between past, present, and future. On the right are cityscapes that represent my future and where I want to be headed. The yellow-orange water represents the warmth and connection that ties everything together and makes me who I am today.
